Fragility is a daily occurrence for an artists' collective, such as the collective of the gallery L'Alcôve. It is the cohesion of the group that must be maintained and built upon as new projects and newcomers come along. It is the identity of the group, much more fleeting, shifting and uncertain than that of the individual, and therefore more ephemeral. It is also the capacity of the collective to set its objectives for a common project, as for a photograph testifying to the fragility of the moment.

The Alcôve invites you to the opening of the exhibition Erosion, on November 22nd from 6pm to 10pm, in resonance with the 16th Biennial of Contemporary Art in Lyon, Manifesto of Fragility.

This first exhibition of the collection offers a panorama of Lyon's creation from the 18th century to today.

Collectif CAPSULE Artists Antonin Dony, Eve Martin and Arsène Prat and curator Valentin Vennesson develop an immersive installation work. Since their formal experiments, they have pursued a search on the landscape by questioning materiality and virtuality.

In Virginie Yassef's world, strange, even supernatural always arises where we least expect them. Through the objects that she diverts and on which she imposes variations of scale or texture, she questions our geographical, spatial and temporal landmarks to create fictions that are both funny and cruel.
