With ‘Faire corps de soi(e)’, Tina Marais becomes the archaeologist of Lyon's textile history. Autor of the encounter between workers and machine, diametrically opposed to the fantasised image of Lyon's silk industry.

During the XIX century with the silk textile's industrialisation production in Lyon, the machine domesticated worker and his body, which for centuries had been the yardstick for measuring textiles. From then on, the body had to adapt to new postures and movements. Every productive gesture leaves its mark. A struggle between the natural body and the productive body.
