Bocar Niang comes from a family of griots, the poet-storytellers whose job it is to preserve and pass on the oral traditions of communities in certain parts of Africa. His research is based on collecting stories and events, which he translates into his artistic work.

During performance readings, the artist activates his Murdesmots textile installation, composed of seventy colorful words and suspended in the halls of Grandes Locos. His performance is an invitation to share, to speak, to polyphony and to all forms of orality - spoken, declaimed, sung and played.
