This meeting with the artist will be an opportunity to discuss with him the manifesto of fragility which corresponds well to his approach, which is clearly aiming at giving obvious form to this fragility, striving to reveal its discreet beauty while revealing what it hides of resistance and struggle...

“Where does this fragility come from? This fragility that I feel, that I know, and that I figure in my sculptures? It comes from far away, no doubt, from my history made of exile, uncertain identity and later proximity with these weakened women and men while I was working as a caregiver.

But this fragility has always seemed to me to go hand in hand with the life force that each being is inhabited, like a primary balance that defines existence. This force which sometimes appears to us beyond the possible, this force which we did not expect where the being seemed so vulnerable. The truth is, I don't know if in my sculptures I don't try to represent this force first. I show beings that are fragile but still standing, dignified, upright, planted on these heavy bases that prevent them from falling. It is this balance, I believe, which questions me, fascinates me unceasingly and which I let come in my sculptures. I see, I feel, I know the fragility, it is this truth so beautiful, so touching of all life, I seek to show it where many hide it but I seek to make it possible and still charged with life."
