Transdisciplinary artist Nawelle Aineche just started a four-month art residency program in the Pays de L'Arbresle which focuses on themes such as interconnection, memory and time, while exploring weaving techniques. This event will showcase the works produced during this residency.
Throughout this art residency, a collective artwork will be made with the citizens of the Pays de l'Arbresle : old fabrics collected thanks to the help of the inhabitants will be woven together as one piece.
This intervention questions and presents the practice of weaving and the relationship we have with time, labour and community. The fabric itself represents a story.
The artist thus wants to highlight the manufacturing process that the woven material suggests: the time made visible by the assembly of the material.
Nawelle Aïnèche is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Lyon. She initially has a performing arts background and trained at La Martinière-Diderot in stage costume. She creates hybrid works between visual and live art.
