Chevaux magiques,
cicatrices fossiles
er bonne étoile
Born in 1990 in the Beaujolais region of France, Théophile Abram Balthazar Stern trained in metal structures and then entered the Beaux Arts de Paris in 2013 in Pascale Marthine Tayou's studio.
Sometimes invoking the history of places as our collective memory, halfway between construction site and ruins, Christian and Muslim cultures, plastic and decorative arts, in a Gaudi spirit.
Bas-reliefs made from highly defined images of a non-stop news broadcast, ceramic bestiary representing political figures and other icons, etc..
So many archives of a present time with programmed obsolescence, made up of multiple strata and saturated with news of all kinds that Théophile Stern reinvents and reinvents in his experimental factory that does not fear the confrontation of eras and their artifacts.
Théophile Stern is currently part of the Collectif d'artistes of the Lyon-based association gamut.
