Inspired by an Alpine tale that recounts this learning process on behalf of men in the face of earthly upheavals, Thomas Bernard began a research and creative residency at the Maison Forte de Hautetour in Saint Gervais between April and July 2022. During this residency, he prepared a film on the subject of rock falls in the Alpine massif, which echoes current concerns about climate change and the devastating phenomenon of permafrost thaw. Camera in hand, he surveyed the glaciers, the valleys, the rocky paths, and captured the movements of the alpine mountains, and especially the massif of Mont Blanc, recorded their rumbling with the support of Stephane Clor, a musician and sound engineer, to convey the movements of the mountain, its breath, the beating of its heart.

«Nothing changes shape like clouds, / Except rocks» is a story in the form of a journey into a world where people pass through but do not settle down.
