To compose her drawings, with charcoal or ink, Mélanie Planche gathers images, photographs, texts, seizes them and organizes sets halfway between the tragic, the poetic and the absurd. She sometimes uses short narrative forms to compose graphic suites. She always works by series, exploring several tracks at the same time. By comparing and contrasting her drawings, she focuses her work on the links that are built between images, questioning our ability to project ourselves from one pictorial space to another.
