The exhibition entitled Adaptabilis by eco-artist Laurence Piaget-Dubuis and architect and urban planner Hervé Savioz invites us to question the habitability of territories in the face of climate issues and the retreat of glaciers. Through an immersive photographic installation, this Swiss duo sensitive to the alpine environment, opens negotiations to adapt, adjust, agree on new relationships of cohabitation between human and non-human beings and co-write the stories of a shared future.

L'îlot-S
As part of the Adaptabilis exhibition designed by Laurence Piaget-Dubuis and Hervé Savioz, L’îlot-S invites the public to typographic workshops in partnership with L’Atelier à L’Envers (Guillaume Bétemps).
During a workshop, L’îlot-S offers an introduction to the art of typography and words on old presses! After a guided tour of the exhibition, everyone will be able to play with the words present in the exhibition in order to write a common story in favor of a habitable planet for the living! Each participant will be able to leave with a copy of the creations produced during the workshop and display, if they wish, a copy on the walls of L’îlot-S for the duration of the exhibition!

Cinéma La Turbine
As part of the Adaptabilis exhibition and the Fête de la Science, L’îlot-S will screen the movie “The High Road. Along the Glaciers” directed by Christophe Raylat.
This 52-minute documentary follows a young group set off to criss-cross the heart of the Alps on skis, from Chamonix to Zermatt. Throughout their crossing, the four protagonists decipher the visible and invisible signs of global warming on the Alpine glaciers.
The mountain is a barometer of the state of the world, where global warming is three times more visible there than elsewhere. This trip is an opportunity to realize the fragility of our ecosystems and to question the balance to be found with our environment.
The screening will be followed by a meeting with the film crew.

Salle des Eaux et Forêts
The philosopher Dominique Bourg will be the guest of honor of this second conference of the Adaptabilis cycle, on the question of the habitability of the planet.
Some consequences of global warming are now irreversible: glaciers are receding and are doomed to disappear, the level of the oceans is rising, the climate is changing and humanity is undeniably responsible. Faced with this clear observation, what are the individual and collective behaviors to adopt to bequeath to future generations a habitable planet?
