Two Art centers in Ardeche, la Fabrique in St Pierreville and Gallery Mirabilia in Lagorce, make a tribute to Shafic Abboud, a painter of lebanese origin, a life and a work between East, between abstraction and figuration.
Shafic Abboud was born on 1926 in Liban. He settled in Paris in 1947, worked in the wokshops of Fernand Léger, André LHote...Recognized artist from the 1950s and multi-talented creator, he collaborated with many poets or visuals artists and presented about fifty personal exhibitions in Lebanon, France, United States. His works are part of many major international collections. During the many years spent in Paris, the light from Lebanon appears in his paintings, until erasing sometimes the subjets, nudes, portraits, landscapes, for the benefit of painting itself, in which the colour draws...
