Open for only a few months, Artissima invites you to discover the exceptional collection of François and Michelle Philippon through a journey in line with the theme of the Biennale, Manifesto of Fragility.
The Artissima Collection, assembled in a free and demanding manner, reflects a deep interest in the sensitivity of artists and their place in the history of their time. François Philippon's choices are mainly focused on themes such as fragility, rupture, construction and deconstruction.
This collection illustrates the journey of a collector who assumes his passion to the point of being able to propose an atypical place, which looks like a museum without being one. It is a private place where a true will of freedom, sharing and transmission is reflected.
In the unique setting of this old golden stone mill, located on the banks of the Saône, Artissima presents a selection of nearly 200 artworks by painters, sculptors, photographers and visual artists, as varied and renowned as Sophie RISTELHUEBER, Valentin CARRON, Mengzhi ZHENG, Sidival FILA, Joël ANDRIANOMEARISOA, Jitish KALLAT, Tulio PINTO, Kader ATTIA, Gilles CARON, Ousmane SOW, Lynette YIADOM-BOAKYE, Christian BOLTANSKI, Abel BARROSO, Guillaume BRESSON, Merlin CARPENTER, Agathe PITIE, Andrew BROOK, Pierrette BLOCH, Andres SERRANO, and many others.
